If you have a family member who is struggling, or if you are interested in the nature of addiction, we offer Family Education seminars every third Sunday. (Please check our
events calendar for upcoming dates)
This program is open to anyone interested in learning more about the disease of addiction. Topics include: the neurobiology of the disease, the stages of the disease, its symptoms and how the family is involved.
"I was impressed by this comprehensive overview about addiction. The neurobiology was up-to-date and easily accessible for the whole audience. I was able to get a good sense of what EDGEWOOD is about from the basic philosophy and educational component to the breadth of experience of the staff."
- Dr. Lyn MacBeath Vancouver Psychiatrist
As the most vulnerable among us, children of substance abusing parents need to know there is help for them. EDGEWOOD's Bounce Back program provides a fun environment where children who are living with addiction in the family can explore and express their feelings freely.
Through games, role-play, videos, art projects, songs and group discussions, children develop a sense of belonging, feel less isolated and lean to understand their experience and where to turn for help.
Bounce Back is designed for children ages 7 - 12. For mor information please contact our Family Programs Supervisor, Dale MacIntyre at
dale.macintyre@edgewood.ca or call our admissions department at 1-800-683-0111.
